Customised solutions for Stub Hole Milling and Anode Cleaning
Lyng Anode Bits are designed for drilling carbon anodes prior to the electrolysis process, enabling efficient preparation for the attachment of electrical conductors. The drilling elements can be configured to suit different anode preparation requirements.
Before electrolysis, electrical conductors are attached to the carbon anodes. Holes are drilled into the anode to enable the conductors to be securely attached.
Lyng develops Anode Bits with custom-designed drilling elements optimized for carbon anode drilling. The bits are available in different sizes to accommodate different applications and machine requirements.
Available sizes: 150–220 mm

The blade provides the structural foundation, while the replaceable cutter cassettes and PDC cutting edges perform the actual cutting.
The outer diameter of Lyng Anode Bits features replaceable wing cassettes.
When the outer cutting elements are worn, the cassettes can be repaired or replaced without replacing the complete bit. This provides a practical way to reduce replacement costs and keep the Anode Bit in service for longer.
Anode preparation requirements can vary between machines and production setups. Lyng can adapt the bit configuration to the specific application.
