Part of Lyng Drilling's patented Saw Blade Technology for Anode Slotting
Lyng Drilling's cutter cassettes are replaceable cutting elements designed for use with our saw blade systems for anode slotting.
The cassettes combine a polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) cutting edge with a steel body and are brazed to the cassette base. Their geometry and positioning are designed specifically for efficient cutting of carbon anodes.
The geometry of the cutter cassette is optimised for its position on the saw blade.
Cassettes are installed in an alternating configuration on each side of the blade. This staggered arrangement allows the cutting edges to create the required slot width while supporting efficient material removal and chip transportation.
The combination of cutter width, offset and tip geometry determines the characteristics of the resulting slot.

The blade provides the structural foundation, while the replaceable cutter cassettes and PDC cutting edges perform the actual cutting.
Lyng Drilling offers cutter cassettes in different configurations to match specific saw blade and slotting requirements.
The cutter cassette nomenclature describes the tip profile, slot width and cassette orientation.
